What grants should cartoonists apply for besides the Xeric Foundation Grant?

If you are an artist and you want to get your own comics published and distrubuted, what grants should you apply for besides the Xeric Grant? WHat grants should you apply for if you want to write the comic also? Please let me know. Thank you.
